About the conference
The upcoming conference will focus on "Artefacts and Entrepreneurship - The Role of Other-than-Humans in Entrepreneurship Practices". The conference aims to collectively explore how using a "practice lens" in entrepreneurship research enables us to emphasize and theorize the role of non-human agents in entrepreneurship. This involves embracing the notion that entrepreneurship is not merely a cognitive activity but is fundamentally influenced by a variety of artefacts, from fleeting narratives and embodiments to tangible prototypes (Selden & Fletcher, 2015; Berglund et al., 2020; Berglund & Glaser, 2022). Practice theories offer a theoretical framework to understand these materializations and their significance in various entrepreneurial practices. The exploration includes how concepts like symbolic capitals (Bourdieu, 1986), interactional contextualities (Giddens, 1986, p. 282), material arrangements (Schatzki, 1996), or constitutive entanglements (Gherardi, 2012; Orlikowski, 2007) can assist in analyzing entrepreneurial practices.
